Here at Le Reve Organic Spa & Boutique, we pride ourselves on having a multitude of different spa facials that are specially designed to fit everyone's individual needs. One of our facials, the Age Defying, is perfectly curated for those with aging skin. What that means is that at the end of your facial, you are going to see a decrease in fine lines and discoloration, which are common in older skin types.

To start off, your skin will be thoroughly cleansed with an oil cleanser followed by a second cleanser, in order to remove all of the impurities from your skin. This double-cleansing method allows your skin to be fresh and ready to be analyzed by your esthetician.

You will then be treated by a wonderful enzyme peel by Eminence Organics. This treatment will focus on accelerating the exfoliation process, leading to a reduce in visible pigment. It also has a plumping effect, which will leave the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines visibly reduced. 

Following the treatment, a series of masks that promotes youthful and radiant skin will be applied to your skin. During this time, a galvanic device will be placed onto your skin and smoothed over the face mask. This galvanic device emits low-level currents that have an abundance of benefits for your skin.

Some of the benefits include:

• Minimizing fine lines and wrinkles
• Boosts the elasticity of your skin, which aids in the tightening of the skin and preventing signs of premature aging.

Have you been plagued by an onslaught of acne occurring on your face, and while having healed it has left behind an abundance of dark-spots that just won't fade? And it seems that everything you do just doesn't help or make any sort of difference? Trust me I fight with that everyday, and hear me when I say that I am tired of buying concealer to cover them up. I have been looking for a product that targets hyper-pigmentation, doesn't bleach my skin, and all while being natural and organic. Now, I can say that I have found just the product in Eminence Organic Skin Care Bright Skin Licorice Root Booster Serum.

    

With this product, you get the package deal of anti-aging, hydration, brightening, and most importantly,  the halt of dark spots occurring. The Bright Skin Licorice Root Booster Serum contains a great selection of natural and organic certified products that promote and produce a plethora of wonderful properties. First and foremost, what I believe to be the most important is the licorice root. This ingredient brightens the complexion, but it also is a natural tyrosinase inhibitor, aka it stops the overproduction of melanin. 

It becomes really easy to become turned off to the idea of a product when it is advertised as brightening or lightening, because it sounds like your skin is going to come out bleached and 3 shades lighter, but with this product you do not need worry. Tyrosinase inhibitors in no way bleach your skin, instead they aid in stopping tyrosine, the enzyme that causes oxidation that leads to melanin, from over-producing. 

Hyper-pigmentation can be from a number of thing, such as any skin trauma occurring due to acne, psoriasis, eczema, or even hormonal imbalances. This trauma kicks off the overabundance of melanin being sent to the surface, and tyrosinase inhibitors found in the licorice root are meant to stop this in its tracks.

Along with licorice root, the Bright Skin Licorice Root Serum has plenty of other vital ingredients perfectly curated for your skin. It contains stonecrop, a succulent that promotes moisture, brightening, and reducing pigmentation due to being rich in regeneration properties. It also includes Swiss Alpine plant extract and lactic acid which both work in tandem to brighten your skin further after your skin is exfoliated and rid of its dead skin cells, and leaving it rejuvenated.

I understand that when it comes to applying skincare, the right and wrong way can always be a bit blurry. My recommendation for this product is to apply it before you apply your moisturizer, but before any other serums that are of a lower viscosity. For example, if you use Eminence's Citrus & Kale Potent C+E Serum, then I would advise you to apply the Bright Skin Licorice Root Serum after the C+E Serum due to it having a thicker consistency. Another alternative is applying your usual serums, and then adding a few drops of the Licorice Root to your moisturizer before applying. This serum can also be used to spot treat any particular problem areas.

Picture this, as you come into Le Reve Spa Santa Barbara you feel instant relaxation. It becomes Pavlovian upon visiting. When you lay on a Le Reve Spa table, you take a slow deep breath in... 1... , 2 ... , 3 ... and then out 3 ... , 2 ... , ... 1. Your stresses begin to escape with each inhale and exhale moving from this point on. While you are slowly zoning off into your happy place, we massage your head and scalp. We lay down two warm floral water eye pads on your eyelids. The sweet floral fragrance assists you in drifting off to a blissful state. Once the eye pads are placed, we start applying a stimulating exfoliating polish onto your hands and lower arms as well as your lower legs and feet. This vigorous body polish not only feels amazing, but it also physically removes a lot of build up of dead skin and impurities utilizing ground walnut shell.

Take another deep breath in ... 1... , 2 ... , 3 ... and out 3 ... , 2 ... , 1 ... Feel the pressure of our hands onto your temples, and feel the warm brush on your skin as we cleanse your face. Feel the brush glide onto your skin in a synchronize almost hypnotic motion. Using warm sponges to remove the cleanser, we then analyze your skin to identify your skin type and condition. After our skin analysis we do our second cleanse. This helps penetrate deeper into your pores to continue to remove any impurities your skin may have.

Afterward, we exfoliate your face, neck, and décolleté to help soften and remove any dead skin. As you lay there relaxing, we provide you a soothing head, neck and shoulder massage. You continue to drift while listening to the calming spa music coupled with the relaxing white noise provided by our fountains and our historic maple floors . Upon removing your exfoliant, our esthetician will begin to prep your skin for treatment. During this time a calming facial massage is applied to help the skin continue to break down impurities and prepare the skin for what comes next.

During this time, if you are like most of our guests, you may have nodded off. While you are in a state of cloud nine your skin is treated with a series of masks designed to meet your specific skin care needs. 

Once the appropriate time has passed per treatment application, we remove it using a hot compress treated with hydrating essence to help groom the skin. Your skin is then rehydrated and conditioned with the proper serums and moisturizers.  We gently wake you up before we step out by having you breath in 1 ... , 2 ... , 3 ... , and out 3 ... , 2 ... , 1 ... While welcoming you back to the day you are offered cool fresh water to help further rehydrate you.

• Age Defying/ Antioxidant Facials, are 90-minutes and are specifically designed to target the signs of aging such as fine lines and discoloration. • Blueberry Body Slimming Wraps, are 90-minutes and are a therapeutic treatment for the whole body. Your skin is covered with a blueberry scrub to soften and exfoliate. Your body is then drenched with a slimming gel wrap to tone and increase elasticity. This wrap will increase collagen and infuse the skin with moisture.

• Total Body Bliss, is 90-minutes and is ultimate in body rejuvenation. Essential oils and herbs are used to fit your individual needs. • Gel Manicures, are 45-minutes and include all of the same usual treatments and standards as the Le Reve Spa Mani except the polish used is gel polish. Gel polish is an alternative to regular nail polish, in which it does not have a dry time and instead is cured by an ultraviolet lamp or ultraviolet LED. Gel polish does not chip, peel, or crack and lasts longer than regular nail polish.

• Le Reve Spa Pedicures, are 45-minutes and they will soak your feet in pure essential oils such as lavender, lemon-lime, or pine.
