Today I thought I'd tell you guys a little bit about the Purely Age-Defying line of products from Jurlique. If you're not familiar with Jurlique, they're a Biodynamic and Organic skincare line based in Adelaide, Australia whose products are absolutely to die for. In the Purely Age-Defying Line, you can find products meant to restore your skin from any marks of age and keep you looking fresh well into your thirties, forties, and beyond. The products receive incredible reviews on their own, but used in conjunction with each other can work miracles on your skin. There are nine different products in the line, but I am only going to be focusing on the seven that I believe are absolutely necessary to returning your skin to the youth it had in your twenties.
Though they each have their individual ingredients that separate them from the group, every one of them has three key botanicals: Birch extract, a skin-toning natural astringent, Black Elder Flower extract, a skin-brightening antioxidant, and Licorice Root Extract, a soothing and hydrating blend. I figure the easiest and most efficient way to talk about these products is to introduce them in the order that you would use them daily, as it's key to understanding what they do and how they do it.
The first thing you want to do every morning and every night is cleanse your face. Within this line, the cleanser you want to use is the Nourishing Cleansing Oil. It's replenishing, line-smoothing blend of five botanical seed oils dissolves makeup and lifts impurities off of the skin.
Once or twice a week, depending on the condition of your skin, it's important to replace the cleansing oil with the exfoliating Refining Treatment. This is important to make sure that all of the skin on your face is at its best condition by enhancing cell renewal and comforting the skin.
After cleansing, the Facial Serum is your next step This serum reduces signs of visible lines and wrinkles, helps increase firmness of the skin, and improves skin's clarity. The serum works as the 1st step in e 2-step regenerative treatment.
The 2nd of this 2-step regime is the the Ultra Firm and Lift Cream which is used directly after the serum as your moisturizer. The cream uses a combination of Vitamin C and Licorice to improve skin tone and clarity. Although unnecessary, I've found that combining my moisturizer with an oil makes every effect a little bit stronger. With this line, I would mix in a drop of the Firming Face Oil to protect against environmental aggressors and aid in skin conditioning. At night, instead of the cream I would recommend using the Night Lotion on your face, neck, and décolletage. The lotion features extracts if Rock Samphire and Beech Tree Bud with Vitamin E to improve skin clarity and protect against free radicals while you sleep.
