Juicing For The Common Cold

Colds are no fun, Summer colds, Winter colds. Especially when you absolutely, 100%, have to be somewhere and cannot just lie on your Kleenex-littered bed and watch Netflix while moaning. It doesn't matter that your throat is sore, your head hurts, you feel foggy and stuffed up-you have to leave the house. And, well, you'd like to not look sick while you're at it. I know all to well how this goes, and I've got you covered. Mix up this fresh batch of raw juice that's designed to get you up and at 'em in no time.

You Will Need:

1 Granny Smith Apple
Apples are loaded with antioxidants and Vitamin C. Along with flavonoids, which are anti-inflammatory substances that help bolster the immune system.

I peeled Lemon
Lemons are basically yellow Vitamin C containers, and their acidity also helps your body detox.

1 Red Bell Pepper
Red Bell Peppers are also full Vitamin C and they have immune system-boosting phytochemicals.

3 large peeled Oranges
Because Oranges are for sickies and while they of course contain Vitamin C, they're also the delicious backbone of flavor in this juice.

2 pieces of fresh Ginger each about the size of your thumb.
Ginger is an anti-inflammatory, it kills nausea and helps stop vomiting, and it's a magic antimicrobial food that wants your cold dead.

Lastly, 1 oz. of Apple Cider Vinegar
This natural infection-fighter soothes sore throats while killing sickness-causing bacteria.

Juice or Blend and add Apple Cider Vinegar after then drink up!

Moisturizing Hand SanitizerIf you have the luxury of not already being in a "cold" state of mind, great! Keep it up by drinking lots of water, washing your hands and eating lots of raw fruits and veggies. Carry a natural hand sanitizer with you when you're on-the-go or at work. I recommend Jurlique's Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer. Eliminates 99.9% of germs in seconds after application, but leaves hands moisturized and silky smooth. As shown on the left, the 175ml bottle includes a pump, and the 50ml bottle has a flip-top.

The Ingredients:
  • Australian Bush Mint provides highly effective antimicrobial properties to fight germs on contact.
  • Safflower Oleosome technology delivers intensive, skin conditioning and moisturizing properties to hands after disinfecting.
