Quality Sun Protection :)

☼ ☼ ☼
A brand that we carry in our boutique and consider to be one of the greatest organic brands out there is Jurlique, which is based in Adelaide, Australia.

My go-to product from Jurlique would have to be their Sun Specialist High Protection cream, with an SPF 40 and PA +++. The PA system is a new rating scale for sun protection, which is based on the darkening or tanning of skin to determine UV protection. A product could have PA +, PA ++, or PA +++, which is what this cream contains and is the highest possible protection with a PA rating. Because Australia has some of the strictest sunscreen regulations in the world, you can be sure that you are getting quality sun protection.
There's a common misconception that the SPF of a sunscreen is the determining factor of whether or not it works well. Truthfully, anything over an SPF 40 holds the same amount of protection; it depends on how often you apply the sunscreen that determines how well it works. How often you need to apply sunscreen depends on your skin type. Because my skin is fair, I have to apply sunscreen very 45 minutes to an hour, but if your skin is darker and doesn't burn easily you may be able to wait up to 2 hours before reapplying.
The percentage of organic ingredients that a product must contain to be considered organic is 75%. Jurlique also tries to go above and beyond, and the majority of their products are 95% or more. Their only exception is the sun cream, which at 75% is still considered organic. Frankly, it would be impossible to contain any more organic ingredients and still have the incredible amount of sun protection that it does, and the 20% is a small price to pay for healthy, beautiful skin.
I absolutely love this product because it goes on so lightly and doesn't feel sticky or oily once dry. Despite all of the incredible things regarding sun protection and organic ingredients, it simply feels incredible and leaves your skin healthy and moisturized.
