Keep Calm and Take Care of Yourself

Could this be you?

One quick, free and practical way to de-stress? Recite an affirmation. It sounds too good (and too simple) to be true, but saying a mantra could set a positive tone for your day and help you return to a sense of balance when things feel a little out of whack.
Research tells us that every thought and emotion creates a chemical reaction because it immediately changes our neurochemicals that affect our mental, physical and spiritual health. When a stressful thought fires up, you have the power to cancel it out with a positive one.
One of the most important things to learn in life, is the power and influence of our spoken word. Often times, when we make a statement or a declaration, we are unconsciously stating what we are willing to call forth into our physical world. Sometimes our spoken word is exactly the opposite of that which we dream and desire thereby confusing the Universe with our command. Our spoken word is our 'command'. When we speak, we are giving instructions on the invisible plane. It is the same as filling out a requisition, placing a food order or staking a claim on a piece of property. The purpose of affirmations is not about rattling them off as fast as you can so that maybe you will luck out and things will finally go right for you or money will just drop out of the sky. The purpose of affirmations is to train your mind to think differently and to train your mind to speak differently thereby being very clear with the Universe what it is you desire.
Think of it this way: The 'conscious mind' is the Sergeant and the 'subconscious mind' is the Soldier. The Sergeant directs, commands and orders the Soldier. Affirmations play the roll of the Sergeant, so you are literally training the mind to think and react differently. When the Sergeant barks out a command, the Soldier instantly reacts to the command. The nutshell -- make certain you are barking out to the Universe the right orders!
We live in an age of spiritual enlightenment and at the same time societal unrest. With the constant barrage of negative spoken words such as; can't, don't, won't, didn't, couldn't, shouldn't, coulda, woulda, shoulda, if only, no, maybe, I wish, and I hope, blasting the unconscious mind, it's no wonder the common belief is that life is supposed to be difficult and laborious instead of easy and effortless.

Saying a mantra or affirmation first thing in the morning, is a good idea because it "affects your decision-making for the day and you'll also remember it." Personally commit to reciting a mantra each morning. But don't stress if it doesn't come naturally the moment your alarm goes off. When you're in a strained situation, an affirmation could help prevent you from entering panic mode and bring you back to balance. It brings you back "home."
Your mantra should be your own, something that resonates with you and helps you recenter in the moment. Keep in mind that what de-stresses one person may not be calming for another. So stick with what works, even if it's something as silly as "Hakuna Matata." ;)
"I am calm, I am relaxed, I breathe deeply, I am at peace with myself, I am at peace with the world, I can laugh, Life is good, I am in control."

When you have achieved this, a great reward is placing yourself in a tranquil environment and experiencing a treatment that is designed to balance the chakras in the body and bring peace to mind.
